Working and training with Dan has been a new adventure for me. He has put back the fun into fitness and has shown me that with a little hard work I can achieve the results
I want.
I started training with Dan about a year and a half ago after being away from the gym and an exercise program for a year during which time I had picked up some poor eating habits and started smoking. I had always been active at some level throughout my life and I wanted to get back on track. I realized that I needed someone to help guide and motivate me to get and keep me at the top of
my game.
Dan evaluated my fitness level and asked me about my goals. I started working with him 3 times a week for a half hour. We primarily worked on weight training, with occasional circuit training and I got my cardio in on the alternate days. Initially, I found it extremely challenging and was often wiped out after our sessions. However within about 6 weeks, it was getting easier, I started noticing results and was getting compliments from friends and family.
After about a year, Dan explained that if I wanted to maintain a high fitness level and get stronger, I need to increase the intensity and duration of my workouts. I decided that it was what I wanted to do so I bumped up my sessions to a full hour.
After a few months, I decided that I wanted to apply what I was doing in the gym to an event outside the gym. That’s when Dan challenged me to train for Adventure Racing and I took him up on it. He gave me a daily training program and meal plan and we worked very hard to prepare me for the requisite trail running, mountain biking and paddling. I even took one of my weekly sessions with him outdoors to accomplish this task.
I was definitely ready on race day. I even surprised myself and did better than I had expected! It was so exciting and so much fun! I know that I could not have accomplished this without Dan.
Dan is fun, professional and results oriented. He wants his clients to attain their goals, and knows how to get them there. Promise... Candy S.,mother of 3, accountant, and adventure racer.

The Cradle of Liberty Adventure Race was the hardest race and accomplishment I've ever completed, and I can't wait for the next one.
Thank you for introducing me to adventure racing. This experience has helped me build confidence in myself and the courage to face any situation. Thank you for believing in me. You've been a motivator, captain, mentor, coach and leader. My latest learning and growth is: to respect the taper week, Prepare, it pays off race day, and trust your instinct... Jody F.-teammate, adventure racer, and future personal trainer.
Until a short while ago, I never enjoyed working out. However, I realized that I had to do something to get into shape. In July of 2005, I started personal training with Dan. Since then I have seen a tremendous change in my body and in my energy level. Dan always keeps our sessions challenging, and I look forward to them every time... In April of 2006, I was diagnosed with the first stages of diabetes. I was five eight two hundred and twenty seven pounds. I immediately changed my eating habits and within a month dropped ten pounds. However, I was still not doing well and was tired and overweight. I met Dan through a mutual friend, Candy Stampone, who was being trained by him. I guess I would have to say that Candy and my wife Marge made me feel guilty or goaded me into working out with Dan.
I was skeptical at first but you should see me NOW!!!! I now weigh 195 pounds. I am fit, energetic and my blood sugar levels are where they need to be. When we first started working out I couldn't do 5 push ups. I now routinely challenge my sons who are 17 to 20 year old athletes. Also my clothing sizes have changed drastically. I was a 42 inch waist. I am now a 36. I fit into things that I haven’t worn in ten to fifteen years. I have had a complete makeover from Archie Bunker back to GQ Willie A. Most importantly I feel good I am healthy and I have set attainable goals.
I am so thankful that Marge and Candy introduced me to Dan and people who know me have seen such a drastic change in me that they are also seeking him out for advice and training. My advice to someone who is going to join a gym, don't do so without a personal trainer. I know that it could get expensive at times but most gyms provide you with two free sessions to start. I would personally use those two free sessions and then continue to use a trainer twice a week for at least two months. All the while, you are also going by yourself at least two times a week. I would then reduce my sessions with him to once a week and then to twice a month. Going with the trainer will show you new and innovative ways to attack your body and maximize the effort you put fourth.
So I would personally like to thank Dan for all he has done for me. I know I am a handful, but its toooo late to change now, or is it? Willie A. – local business owner, Angeloni’s Collision
